Your MQ Score is your overall Mindful Quotient—a blend of Screen, Move, and Focus MQ. Screen tracks phone use, Move measures activity, and Focus rewards intentional unplugged time. Together, they show how mindfully you use your phone and how well you’re balancing online and offline presence.
Screen MQ is based on your total screen time, pickups, and app use—weighted by how mindful or mindless each app is. TikTok hurts more than ChatGPT, while utilities like Maps or Clock don’t count at all. In a nutshell, screen time and pickups reduce MQ.
Most mindful apps help you grow or create—like Education, Productivity, or Books. Most mindless apps exist to keep you scrolling—think Social Media, Entertainment, or Games. Nothing against mindless apps at all! Just don't let them dominate your time, the only thing you can't get back!
Nope. Listening to music or podcasts in the background doesn’t hurt your MQ. Screen time counts against MQ only when an app’s open on your screen, not when it’s playing behind it. We made this MQ scoring decision because music, podcasts, and other audio content are often not distracting while playing in the background, and other times are mindful experiences.
MOQA pulls Screen Time from your iPhone (Settings > Screen Time) and Move + Focus data from Apple Health—steps, workouts, mindful minutes. You can also sync devices like Apple Watch, Oura, or WHOOP or use fitness and mindfulness apps like Apple Fitness, Peloton, MyFitnessPal, Calm, and Headspace for extra-accurate tracking.
MOQA uses your email to send gift cards and important updates. Keep it accurate so you never miss rewards, announcements, or big wins.
MOQA loads your data fresh each time to protect your privacy—nothing’s stored in the cloud. That means more data = a few extra seconds, especially towards the end of the week. Usually it’s 5–10 seconds max. If it’s slower, just force close and reopen—works like a charm.
